In the early 90’s, as the value of utilizing computer-generated illustration in the architecture industry was first being discovered and explored, Darrin Sabin graduated from Texas A & M University with a vision and a future plan. He saw the need for an independent, full-service, digital rendering firm that could provide quality images to industry professionals on a project-by-project basis. Darrin and his wife, Kim relocated to Phoenix, Arizona in 1994 and Station Point Studio was established. Since those early years, Station Point has amassed an extensive portfolio of digital imagery created for some of the industry’s finest architects, custom home builders, developers and real-estate professionals.

Our goal at Station Point Studio is rather simple - we want to provide you with digital imagery that will knock your socks off. We want to create pictures that not only accurately capture your design vision, but do so with a warmth and realism that evoke an emotional response from your intended audience. We want to take your plans, add a bit of technical know-how to produce stills and animations that ultimately make your project - and you - shine.

Whenever you trust Station Point with your project imagery, we will strive to make our collaboration a seamlessly smooth success. We will always be available to answer your questions and address your concerns. We will always respect your input, timeline and budget. We are true sticklers for detail and we will never release a Station Point Studio image until you are completely satisfied with the final product.

Contact us today. We’d love to hear about what you have on the boards and welcome the opportunity to partner with you on your next project.

We get asked quite often how we do what we do and we like to explain the process as “virtual construction”. Using your existing files - whether they are in a CAD format or sketched on a napkin - we use our modeling software to build your structure. Once the structure is defined, we incorporate your color and material specifications and fine tune the lighting conditions. The last touch is to add landscape and other entourage elements such as cars, signage and people to ultimately bring your image to life.

Because each image we create is customized to your project’s specific needs, we always begin our process with a detailed conversation with you. Depending on your physical location and communication preferences, this can be accomplished in person, via phone, IM or a Skype teleconference. Once we have a clear understanding of your project requirements and goals, we collect your available files through e-mail and begin our rendering process. Generally speaking, we will request CAD files of plans and elevations along with some basic material specifications.

Our image fees are based on a number of project variables including project square footage, level of detail required, files and information provided, turn-around time and number of shots required to tell your story. We are always happy to quote image fees to prospective clients during an initial conversation once we have some information about your project. We also respect the fact that projects and budgets come in all sizes and we pride ourselves on working hard to meet all of your goals.

Darrin Sabin has over 20 years of design and rendering experience in the architectural field. After graduating from the School of Architecture at Texas A & M University in 1991, Darrin helped implement some of the first PC-based CAD networks in the Houston area while working as an Intern Architect and IT consultant. He relocated to Arizona in 1994 and created Station Point Studio to combine his passion for architecture with his technical expertise.

Darrin’s interest in the emerging field of computerized 3D illustration was recognized when he was hired by a retail architecture firm in Scottsdale to help create and develop one of the Valley’s first
in-house rendering studios. After a few years of working in the commercial sector, Darrin witnessed the growth of his medium throughout the design industry. With his developed skill set, he relaunched his studio concept and began working with clients across multiple disciplines. Darrin truly enjoys his work and still gets a thrill when his clients watch their projects come to life.

Although she has been on the SPS radar since its inception, Kim Sabin officially joined her husband as Station Point’s Marketing Director in 2007. Kim holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Southwestern University at Georgetown, Texas and has worked in marketing, public relations and event planning for several non-profit organizations including Free Arts of Arizona and the Tony Award winning Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas. Kim’s favorite part of her job is meeting with potential clients and learning about their upcoming projects and finds their pride and vision to be constant sources of inspiration.

The biggest advantage to working with a digital renderer is the almost immediate ability to see your design as well as any design changes as they are requested. When you hire Station Point as your digital rendering source, you work closely with Darrin Sabin and he will always offer suggestions to add value to your project images. Station Point Studio treats the following services as "add-ons" and is always happy to suggest them when we think they might benefit your project:
- Secondary Views
- Day and Night Shots
- Alternate Design Treatments
- Lighting Studies
These additional items can usually be tacked on to an existing rendering project for a nominal fee.
